HTP opened IT classes across the country

HTP opened IT classes

This year, the High Technology Park opened about 50 new computer classes and IT laboratories throughout the country. Also, the HTP supported the “Coding Hour” worldwide campaign by launching more than 20 IT centers in schools in rural areas, small and medium-sized cities.

As the Director of the HTP, Vsevolod Yanchevsky, noted, there are a lot of talented and capable schoolchildren in our Belarusian villages, small and large cities. To help them is the main task of the High-Tech Park.

With the support of the Park, an IT center was opened in Dokshytsy, where children will learn to work on 3D printers. Similar projects are already in Lelchitsy and Plis. On the threshold of the Hour Code, Scratch Centers in Lida, Liozno and Bortniki were also launched. By the end of the year, HTP will open new classes in 10 more schools in different parts of Belarus.

Thanks to the online courses of the High-Tech Park, the Scratch programming language has been trained by more than 1,000 teachers and teach it in their schools. About 10 thousand schoolchildren throughout are already studying Scratch. 2 years ago less than 200 students knew about him.

During the “Coding Hour” action, schoolchildren visit the offices of residents of the High-Tech Park in Minsk, Brest, Grodno and Vitebsk. In Belarus, 1500 educational institutions joined the project. The event “Coding Hour” is held annually around the world as part of the international week of informatics study. Traditionally, more than 100 million schoolchildren from 180 countries take part in it.
